De-winterizing checklist

Run fresh water through every faucet and fixture until no antifreeze comes out.

Throw out at least the first two trays of ice, so no antifreeze ends up in a drink.

Open the cabinet doors and check every fitting for leaks.

Try the 12-volt lights and accessories. A dead circuit may just be a breaker or a fuse.

Put fresh batteries in the detectors, then test the CO and smoke alarms.

Inspect the shore cord, inverter, outlets, and any exposed 120-volt wiring.

Prep and start the generator using its own maker's manual.
